Original 16 Brewery, a beacon of resilience and community in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, emerged from the turmoil of a 1989 merger threatening the jobs of 40 employees at a local brewery. Unwilling to surrender their livelihoods, 16 brave employees banded together, pooling resources to birth The Great Western Brewing Company. This bold move not only saved their jobs but also preserved a piece of local heritage. Today, the brewery stands as a proud Canadian entity, internationally recognized for its exceptional beer, crafted from premium Western Canadian barley and hops.
